The condition of riparian areas, the area of land at the edge of our rivers, lakes, ponds, and streams, is vital to preserving the many benefits we derive from those waterbodies – fishing recreation, swimming, natural enjoyment. However, as discussed in earlier webinars, land cover trends show that we are having an impact on the healthy function of these areas.

This webinar will highlight the work of two groups that are working to better protect and restore riparian areas in CT, the Eight Mile River Wild and Scenic Watershed and the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition. Learn about the strategies that have worked from them and maybe some that didn’t. This webinar is part of CT Sea Grant and UConn CLEAR’s ongoing webinar series on this topic.
