Part 2 of the series on UConn CLEAR’s updated land cover tracking project. Using data from the Annual NLCD (National Land Cover Database), CLEAR has made land cover data for the entire Long Island Sound watershed available in a map viewer and dashboard. This webinar will highlight what the data tells us about how our landscape has changed from 1985 –2023 in the whole watershed (up to the Canadian border), in our state, and in our towns and watersheds. The webinar will also explore land cover trends within the 300ft riparian zone along our waterways, a critical area for resilience and stream health.
