NEMO University, or NEMO U, is the national conference of the NEMO Network. The main focus of the conference is on providing opportunities for NEMO program leaders, partners, funders and NEMO friends to network with one another, share successful approaches and learn about new technologies and techniques.
Since 2000, there have been 8 NEMO Universities held at various locations throughout the United States, including Connecticut, South Carolina, Washington, DC, Maine, California, and soon to be Minnesota. The Network was officially formed as a result of discussions at the first NEMO U, held in NEMO’s home in Haddam, CT in October 2000. This conference led to the creation of a Network Charter, which outlined a common mission and ground rules for NEMO programs.
The Network has just announced its 8th NEMO U (U8) to be held in Duluth Minnesota, in collaboration with the Northland NEMO program, October 1-3, 2012. The NEMO Hub and Northland NEMO folks are working hard to ensure this is the best NEMO U yet. Details and registration can be found on the NEMO U8 website.
