The Map (Front and Center)
The map is the premiere attraction. All changes and tools will influence
the map.
Table
of Contents (Right Side)
The Table of Contents lists all of the data layers available. Layers
can be Turned On by checking the box and Turned Off by un-checking the box. After you make a change, you have to
hit the Refresh Map button.
The two top layers, Watersheds and Towns,
are both see-through. They are present to help navigate around the maps.
The other image files are not see-through and will block each other.
For example, if you want to see the change map, none of the land cover
maps can be turned on.
Tools work
on the Active Layer. Towns is the Active Layer by default.
You can also make Watersheds the Active Layer by selecting its
radiobutton and refreshing. The image layers cannot be made active because
they do not have GIS attributes - a requirement for GIS tools, such
as Identify.
Moving
Around (Left Side)
There are a number of ways to move around the map. The Zoom In and Zoom Out tools are for, well, zooming in and zooming out.
First click the button. You'll notice that the tool becomes active (a
blue box is visible). After you have selected the tool, either click
once inside the map to zoom to that spot, or click and drag.
The map will zoom in to show only the area in the box.
