Simplified
Land Cover
The
simplified land cover used ADS40 imagery
and eCognition software to classify
the image into developed and undeveloped land cover.
Simplified
land cover classification was performed on two regions of interest.
The first covered the lower Connecticut River Valley and the classification
was done in three sections. The second region of interest of the
lower Quinnipiac River. Click on the maps below to see the simplified

Lower
Connecticut River Region of Interest
The
lower Connecticut River region of interest consisted of nine tiles
of ADS40 imagery.
Researchers first tried to mosaic the nine tiles together for classification.
The file size was too large for the software, so the region was
divided into three sections containing 53 of the 55 parcels of interest.
Click on the region to see more detail.
