5. Andover Water Resources: Surface Water Quality
The surface quality map is a based on Connecticut DEP’s Connecticut Water Quality Standards and Classifications. It shows the overall classification that is assigned by CTDEP to each stream segment and water body, based on both the overall quality of the water and the uses that are designated as desirable for that water. This map contains two classification schemes: one for inland waters, where the goal for use of the cleanest water is for drinking water supply, and one for coastal waters, where the goal for use of the cleanest water is for direct shellfish consumption. These maps should be used for overall planning purposes only, since the geographic coverage and recentness of local data may vary.
