Professional Groups

Connecticut GIS Network - a voluntary association of individuals and organizations that use GIS-based technologies and data. The Network's purpose is to connect users, learn about GIS activities, explore collaborations and discover information resources - all of which promote a dynamic and innovative community of GIS users. The Network is not affiliated with commercial software, data or service providers. Membership is free and is open to all.

Northeast Arc Users Group - The Northeast Arc Users Group (NEARC) is an independent, volunteer organization dedicated to helping users of Esri GIS software be more successful. The geographic area encompassed by the group includes New England and New York. NEARC hosts two conference annually; one in the Spring and one in the Fall.

New England Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (NEURISA) - a professional association of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) practitioners in New England. NEURISA is a nonprofit 501(c)6 organization whose mission is to advance the effective and appropriate use of GIS and related information technologies to solve challenges throughout the region.

American Association of Geographers - The AAG is a nonprofit scientific and educational society founded in 1904. For more than 100 years the AAG has contributed to the advancement of geography. Its members from nearly 100 countries share interests in the theory, methods, and practice of geography, which they cultivate through the AAG's Annual Meeting, scholarly journals and the online AAG newsletter.

University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) - a non-profit organization that creates and supports communities of practice for GIScience research, education, and policy endeavors in higher education and with allied institutions.
