9:15-9:45 "Connecticut's Changing Landscape: a Study of Statewide Change from 1985 to 2002 Based on New Digital Land Cover Data for 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000."

Presenters: Sandy Prisloe and Emily Wilson, Center for Land Use Education and Research, UConn Cooperative Extension System.

The presentation will discuss the creation of a standardized satellite-derived eleven-class land cover data series for the years
1985, 1990, 1995 and 2002. These data represent the first consistently classified set of multi-date statewide land cover data
and provide the basis for statewide, regional and municipal change studies. The presenters will explain how the data were interpreted from Landsat satellite images, what the land cover classes include, what preliminary change analyses show and how the data appropriately can be used.

9:45-10:15 "The Capitol Region Parcel Level Land Use"

Presenters: Erik Snowden, Capitol Region Council of Governments; and Mike Olkin, Applied Geographics.

The CRCOG Land Use data set is a parcel/CAMA based layer covering the 29 municipalities of the Capitol Region. The individual municipalities provide and review the data, managed by the CRCOG staff.
